For the past 4 days I’ve gotten to enjoy Galveston beach with my family.
We had a blast and tons of fun memories were made:).
My kids got to go boogie boarding for the first time and they loved it!
We also ate delicious food like ice cream, hamburgers the size of a Porsche, hot dogs, and other goodies.
This brings me to the topic at hand, what should you eat on vacation?
If you are someone who’s goal is living a healthy lifestyle, then I would say anything you want.
The reason is that once you get back home, you are going to get right back into your normal routine of eating whole foods, exercising, and getting adequate sleep.
When I was on vacation, I was able to workout once at a local park for 30 minutes.
It felt great besides the 200% humidity that Galveston blesses you with:).
Sleeping wasn’t that great because we were up till 11pm at night and blessed with two boys who think that 7am is sleeping in:(.
Now that I’m back home, I get to settle into my normal healthy routine.
- 90% of my nutrition is going to come from lean protein, veggies, and healthy fats.
- Get at least 7 hours of sleep a night.
- Strength train 3-4x/week.
I will say, however, to make sure you drink plenty of water while you are on vacation.
This will help you have more energy, improve your digestive system, and not be gluttonous with your food.
Don’t feel guilty for consuming sugar or eating processed food while on vacation.
Focus on the people you are there with and the memories you are getting to share together.
When you come back home, go right back to your normal routine and stay consistent with it.
This is a great recipe for a healthy lifestyle!
